Hello All

Well...at least the weather is seasonal!

FRESH MEAT
We will have the following fresh meat in the shop this weekend:

* Pork
* Lamb
* Chicken - whole, fillets, thighs and legs.
* Diced Venison
* Venison Sausages & Burgers
* Wild Boar Sausages & Burgers
* Pheasant including packs of breasts & legs
* Partridge
* Mallard
* Rabbit

FOOD GENIE
After the excellent feedback from the Open Day on Richard's produce, we
will have his Home Cooked chillis and Cottage Pies made with our own beef;
and chicken, pork and beef pies in both small and medium available in the
shop this weekend.

CHRISTMAS PUDDINGS - in addition he is making Christmas puddings for us,
which should also be available this weekend.

CHRISTMAS MEAT
Thankyou to all who have ordered to date.  
We are still taking orders for Christmas meat, both Toll Gate Farm and
Adlington have asked for orders to be in by the 10th December, but I think
orders can be tagged on after this!

You can order in the shop or by simply sending an email to
ellenden at harvington.net with your requests.  Please do not hesitate to ask
if you have queires regarding the list - I had plenty last year as now!

We will take orders for beef until it has all been allocated!

SIMPLE SUPPERS
In addtion to their normal produce, we will be stocking the following
Christmas lines:

* Cocktail sausage rolls
* Black Olive Cocktail Scones
* Parmesan & Sesame Shortbreads in packs of 24
* Sausage Meat in Tubes 500g
* Cocktail Chipolata sausages
* Hams unsmoked & uncooked
* Hams smoked & uncooked
* Ham on the bone uncooked - approx 6kg
* Smoked ham on the bone, approx 6kg
* All of the above hams can be baked and glazed with brown sugar, honey,
ginger, orange juice & cloves.


STOCKING FILLERS
If you are looking for ideas for stocking fillers Sue Thomas has worked her
magic on her  "Cookie Pops" Creative shortbread biscuits in the shapes of
Christmas trees, snowflakes and snowmen!

ADOPT A HEN
We are also continuing to run the "adopt a hen" scheme.  Children can adopt
one our hens for a year and with prior arrangement they can come to the
farm and feed the hens, collect eggs to take home for tea, and learn a
little about the care and management of looking after their hen.  We will
provide you with an adoption certificate to give as a gift on Christmas
day.

DAY FISHING TICKETS
If you have keen fishermen in the family they may like to come fish our
lake.  A lot of people don't even know it exists which it makes it very
peaceful and tranquil!  Those who have fished the lake have described it as
a "jewel".  it is full of healthy Carp, Roach and Tench.  We can issue
vouchers which can remain valid until used - I can't imagine the most
dedicated fisherman wanting to fish in this weather!!!


NAME A HEN COMPETITION!
The three rescus hens at the back of the shop have now been named as listed
below:

Black Beauty - Victoria Leathers
Henrietta - Charlotte Taylor
Solo - Fergus Hancox

The three winners will automatically adopt these three hens for a year.

FREE HAMPER DRAW
I am pleased to announce that Margaret Williams has won the Christmas
Hamper.  This will consist of a joint of beef and all the trimmings to
provide a family meal over the festive period - thankyou to all of you who
returned the slips, kindly delivered by Richard the postman, or the advert
from the Observer.

On a final note it is the Harvington Christmas Fayre this Saturday taking
place in the village Hall between 12pm - 2pm  I am sure they will be very
grateful for your support!

Have a good week - please let us know if you see any sheep on the loose -
they seem to be taking themselves for a walk along the footpath!
