Hello All
Two weeks on Friday and the festivity will have begun in earnest......!
CHRISTMAS TURKEY ORDERS
Thank you for all the orders received this week - I have given orders to
both Charles Hammond and Adlington. Charles has said I can keep taking
orders until Saturday 12th December. They will allocate all the birds on
Sunday morning, and then let me know how many birds, and at what weights
they have spare. I need to check the state of play with Adlington with
regards to boned & rolled turkeys etc.
GAMMONS & HAMS
I am letting Gill from Simple Suppers have the orders for both smoked
cooked and smoked uncooked gammons tomorrow - she asked for the unsmoked
orders by Monday 14th - If anyone is thinking of having a gammon or ham I
would appreciate your order over the weekend. These are proving very
popular again this year!
FRUIT & VEGETABLE ORDERS
We are taking orders for boxes that can be collected with your meat -
there are forms at the counter in the shop, or I can email anyone who
would like another form. David has asked for these forms to be in by

RECIPE OF THE WEEK - Thank you Kate!
RABBIT
Put 1 wild rabbit in the slow cooker with a splash of Brandy, a sprinkle
of Thyme and a cup or so of hot Kallo Mushroom Stock, cook on Auto or
medium for about 6 hours, allow to cool.
Remove rabbit from the cooking liquor (which can be saved along with the
remaining mushroom stock and put in a Mushroom Risotto or similar).
Take all the meat from the rabbit and discard the bones.
Bring a large pan of salted water to the boil for the Tagliatelle, (if
using fresh 3 mins).
Then slice a good handful of chestnut mushrooms and fry in a small knob of
butter. When soft add another slug of Brandy and boil for a minute, then
add a little double cream, taste and season accordingly.
Add the rabbit meat to this and stir through, when the rabbit meat is
heated through serve on a bed of Tagliatelle.
After the inital slow cooking, very quick and easy!
CHRISTMAS WREATHS & TABLE DECORATIONS
These seem to be proving very popular, and Julie is very accommodating at
making them to your specific requirements. We have got simple Holly
Wreaths in the shop now, as well as the more exspensive ones which contain
the cones and cinnamon sticks etc.
JAMIE OLIVER PRODUCTS
You may remember Adrain Nichols attended our Open Day with a number of
"Jamie at Home products" We have got a selection of these products
available to purchase in the shop ranging from Oak Tablet Chopping Boards
and Meat carving boards to Kilner Storage Jars. We have got the full list
of products in the catalogue, or you can email me if you would like to know
more information on price etc.
There are lots of good ideas for Christmas presents - I have one in mind
for Ann..........
I think that sums up everything for this week - set to get colder again so
I have been told!
Kind regards
Sara
