THIS WEEKS RECIPE
BEEF CURRY - Thankyou again Tom!
INGREDIENTS
1kg Braising steak
2 large onions
4 or 5 garlic cloves
4 or 5 heaped teaspoons curry powder
Two 400 gm tins chopped tomato
Oil or ghee
Vegetables, optional

METHOD
Cut meat into 1" pieces.
Chop the onions and garlic and fry gently until soft.
Mix curry powder to a soft paste with water, mix into the fried onions and
stir fry gently for a few minutes ensuring that there is enough oil to
prevent sticking.
Add the meat and tomato, mix well then simmer until the meat is tender
(about two hours).
If using vegetables add carrot parsnip and potato after one hour.
cauliflower after 90 minutes and spinach or chard a few minutes before
serving.

If you intend to freeze any curry do not add potato.

Serve with rice or naan bread, Indian pickles and perhaps a chopped salad
of cucumber, tomato and shallot.

FARMING NEWS
LAMB FEEDING AT ELLENDEN
This is simply an opportunity for anyone to come along and have a go at
bottle feeding and handling a lamb - she is very tame and cuddly! We do
not expect anyone to keep coming at the same time every day, it is just an
opportunity to partake in the experience that they may otherwise not have.
If anyone would like to come along please just reply to this mail with a
time and day you would like to attend

I am trying to give up cakes and biscuits for Lent - David thinks my chance
of success is zero, I think that is more of a challenge!!

Lets hope for more sunshine this weekend.

Kind regards

Sara
