Hello all

I have been informed of lots of media coverage recently, in relation to the
pros of shopping locally but never seem to have time to view - I have been
told that Jamie Oliver is promoting British Pork this week, due to be
televised on channle 4, Thursday 29th January - I am intending to try and
watch and thought you might be interested.

THIS WEEKS RECIPE (Thankyou Priscilla)
David thought it was time he was treated to pudding!

BREAD & BANANA PUDDING
4 slices of bread (thin) or 2 thick. (stale)
1 average size banana
A handful of white chocolate chips
Demara sugar (or caster sugar) ( a sprinkling on each layer)
2 eggs
1 pt milk
Nutmeg

Butter bread.
Then alternately layer bread, banana, chocolate chips
and sugar.
Beat eggs and milk together and pour over mixture.
Top with grated nutmeg.

Leave to stand for half an hour.
Bake in a moderate oven for around 45 minutes or until risen
and firm to the touch.

Serve with, cream, ice cream, or custard.

There is nothing precious about this recipe - you can
use any type of bread and add as much or as little
chocolate and banana as you wish. Exact amounts are not essential.
Just make sure that the egg and milk soaks into all of the
mixture.

Alternatively, instead of banana and chocolate - layer with
mixed fruit, demerara sugar and cinnamon.

FARMING NEWS
We now have 20 Ewes and 35 lambs in the fields here at Ellenden - they
definitley add variety to the countryside and give you the feeling that
spring is not too far away! Emily and Toby have been bottling feeding two
lambs which each belong to a set of triplets, in order to supplement the
mother's
milk. If the ewe does not provide suffcient milk for three lambs we will
continue to soley bottle feed, and there may be an opportunity to help with
the feeding at lunchtime - watch this space!

Have a good week - now light until 5pm!

Kind regards

Sara
