I cannot believe how varied our climate can be..However this weeks'
weather is much better for the keeping of fruit and Vegetables.

WE ARE NOW STOCKING THE FOLLOWING LINES OF SAUSAGE MADE BY SIMPLE SUPPERS

RECIPE OF THE WEEK - THANKS TO MY MUM!
LAMB SOUVLAKI SKEWERS (DOESN'T SOUND VERY LOCAL BUT AT LEAST MOST OF THE
INGREDIENTS ARE)!!
INGREDIENTS
1.5kg/3lb 5oz diced Ellenden lamb leg or shoulder
100ml / 3fl oz olive oil
100ml/ 3 fl oz red wine
2 tsp dried oregano
Zest and juice 2 lemons
2 garlic cloves, crushed.
TO SERVE:
Flatbread
Shredded red cabbage (tossed with lemon juice)
Cucumber
Tomato
Chilli Sauce
Natural
Yogurt
METHOD
1. Put the lamb into a large bowl or strong food bag, Add the olive oil,
wine oregano, lemon zest and juice, garlic and black pepper
2. Mix together so that the lamb is completely coated, then chill and
marinate for at least two hours, over night if possible
3. Lift the chunks of lamb out of the marinade and thread on to 10 metal
skewers or wooden ones that have been soaked
4. Heat the chosen cooking method (grill, barbecue or griddle pan) or
freeze
5. Season the meat with salt, then cook the skewers for 10 - 12 mins,
turning, until cooked to your liking.
6. Serve tucked into warm flatbreads with salad and drizzle with chilli
sauce (available in the corner next to chiller containing pork) and Dairy
House yogurt

CURRENTLY FROM LEDBURY, AS THESE SEEM TO BE THE BEST QUALITY WE CAN SOURCE
- IT HAS BEEN VARIED THIS YEAR.
HARVINGTON CHERRY TOMATOES
We are hoping we will be supplied with Cherry Tomatoes from Harvington
this weekend, but Karen has informed us they need more sunlight to ripen -
we will still have the Buckland available in all varieties.

I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO THANK ALL THOSE INVOLVED IN ORGANISING "FRAME" ON
SUNDAY AT THE LENCHES SPORTS FIELD, WHICH I CAN ONLY DESCRIBE AS A
FANTASTIC EVENT. WE ENJOYED A BARBECUE LISTENING TO A VARIETY OF VERY
TALANTED LOCAL MUSICIANS WHILST THE CHILDREN WERE ENTERTAINED BY CIRCUS
SKILLS..WE WILL DEFINITELY BE HELPING TO SPONSOR NEXT YEAR.
SUNDAY 19TH JULY - CAR BOOT SALE
Just turn up on the day and pay for a pitch - refreshments will be
available.
Enjoy the rest of the week, at least watering the garden is no longer a
chore!
