Hello All

We have absolutely no idea where to pitch ordering this week with the CLA
Game Fair taking this place Friday, Saturday & Sunday - lets hope it has a
positive effect on ALL local businesses in the area!  David has ordered
with confidence.....

FRESH GAME
In keeping with the CLA Game Fair, we have ordered the following fresh
produce from Willow Game:

Wildboar & Apricot Sausages
WildBoar & Apricot Burgers
Venison & Black Pepper Sausages
Venison & Cranberry Burgers
Diced Venison
Venison Steaks
Wild Rabbit


COTSWOLD PIE COMPANY
This week we will have Steak & Ale pies in Fresh, made with our own
beef.  There are Stow pies and Steak & Kidney pies available in the
freezer.


SEASONAL PREODUCE - Not a lot of change this week

RECIPE OF THE WEEK - Apologies for last weeks recipe - it was quite
correctly pointed out that in the "method" section, no account was made
for the creme fraiche listed in the ingredients!  I looked back at the
original source of the recipe and they hadn't either.  I can only assume
it was
included with the cream?!

This weeks recipe:   "ASIAN-GLAZED STEAKS"

INGREDIENTS
4 Ellenden Sirloin, Rump or Rib-Eye Steaks.  (This does also works well
with lamb steaks)

FOR THE MARINADE
90mls (6tbsps) Light Soy Sauce
60mls (4 tbsps) Plum jam
Zest and Juice of 1 lime
2 Spring Onions, finely chopped
45ml (3 tbsps) Coriander
5cm (2 inch) Piece of fresh root ginger, peeled & finely grated
2 Garlic cloves, peeled and finely chopped.


METHOD
Place all the marinade ingredients into a large shallow bowl.

Add the steaks, cover and marinate in the refrigerator for 20 minutes, or
overnight.

Remove the steaks from the marinade.  Cook according to preference on a
pre-heated grill or barbecue, basting occasionally

Serve the steaks with a colourful cous cous salad. We currently have
Ainsley Harriott Tomato Tango and Roasted Vegetable style in stock.



BARBECUE PRODUCE
We will have all the usual flavours of sausage and burgers - David is ever
hopeful!

FARMING NEWS
David has been combining this week - although I know the work has to be
done, it does involve some very late nights.  If you have his mobile

I would like to take this opportunity to pass on our congratulations to
Jess and Lee on the safe arrival of their baby boy twins!  I am sure that
makes looking after one a piece of cake doesn't it Lee!!!
