I hear from Jacquie Turner that the "Jump for Josh" went very well at the
weekend, and a lot of money was raised for a very important cause - Huge
congratulations to everyone concerned.

ELLENDEN COLD COOKED BEEF
With the salading season very much upon us, we have been asked by many
customers about stocking packs of our own cooked beef.  I am pleased to
inform you we will have this available again this weekend.

  Calf, Piglets
* Walk the Nature Trail around the farm
* An Arts & Crafts Tent for Children supervised by Kate and Sophie from
  Harvington Pre School Committee
* Climb on the Combine Harvester
* Watch in action a Mini Steam Roller
* Have your photograph taken collecting eggs, cuddling a lamb or driving
  the Combine Harvester by professional photographer Alsion who will be in
attendance all day and
  can print on site.
* Watch a professional Gun Dog demonstration
* Join in the novelty Dog show and have a go at Agility
* Collect eggs from our friendly free range hens

RECIPE OF THE WEEK 
I haven't got a recipe as such this week - but I would like to share with
you a bit of inspiration I had on Saturday evening.  It occured to me that
I hadn't checked the DW HERBS stock for a while.

These are a range of Herbs and Spices for Flavouring, Seasoning &
Marinades that were recommended by Reverend Thornily, they contain:

No Wheatflour
No Preservatives
No Added Salt or Sugar.

I fancied some chicken & salad for the evening meal, but wanted something
with a bit more flavour.  I simply rubbed the "Egyptian" spices into the
chicken fillets and cooked as normal.  They were delicious!  Maybe I just
amazed myself at how simple some cooking can be!


FARMING NEWS
David is continuing to drive a tractor nearly every working hour of the
day, as well as standing at the table grading Asparagus, or shearing the
sheep....  We did have a bit of rest bite on Tuesday when it rained!


HARVINGTON VILLAGE FETE SATURDAY JUNE 5TH
The village fete is taking place this coming Saturday. There is always
plenty of activities going on for people of all ages.  The weather looks
like it will be a vast improvement on last year, when it rained all
day.....
