Hello All

I cannot believe how quickly Easter has come around this year.  Thank you
to all those who have ordered meat for Easter, we are still taking orders
for
beef, pork and chicken.  

FRESH MEAT WILL BE AVAILABLE FROM THURSDAY MORNING THIS WEEK

Unfortunately our own Spring Lamb is not yet finished - poor weather
conditions have meant the grass has just not grown.......  We do not
believe in sourcing lamb other than our own; we have built a reputation on
the quality of our own home reared meat and we are not prepared to
compromise this.

David has informed me our own SPRING lamb should be available in about 3
weeks.  

EASTER OPENING TIMES
A lot of customers have been asking about our opening times over Easter -
we are open
as normal - Daily 9 - 6pm.  

HEALTHY EASTER EGG
Thank you again to all those who have partcipated in our "Adopt a Hen"
scheme. For the benefit of new subscribers the cost of the adoption is £5,
in
return you will receive the following:

A certificate of ownership for 12 months.
With prior arrangement collect and take home half a dozen eggs on two
separate visits.
Visit your hen anytime you visit the shop, to feed and cuddle her - my mum
puts her "primary school teacher" hat on, and really involves the children
in how the hens are cared for.

Please reply to this email if you are interested - there is still
time for Easter gifts, however this is something we do all year round for
Birthdays or special occasions.

If anyone who has adopted a hen would like to come and collect eggs on
Easter Sunday or any other day of the holidays, at either 11am or 2pm they
can do. PLEASE just send an email, or ring 01386 870296.

SEASONAL PRODUCE

RHUBARB - David is hoping to be able to source some local rhubarb for this
weekend

RADDISH - currently available in the shop, although it didn't feel much
like salad weather today!  


FRESH MEAT AVAILABLE THIS WEEKEND - please reply to this email or ring the
shop on 01386 870296 if you would like anything putting aside.  Orders
already placed have been accounted for.

FARMING NEWS
Exciting news this week - we have had a new flock of pullets arrive - once
their combs grow and they start to lay we will hopefully keep up better
with demand - our own eggs do seem very popular!

David had his photograph taken today with a ewe and her triplets for a
local newspaper - he didn't bother to ask which paper the journalist was
from so watch this space!!

I don't think the weather forecast is great for the easter break - but
lets hope we have a decent summer - we certainly deserve it after the
winter we have endured.......
